Head Coach – Mixed Ultimate Frisbee

CEGEP Heritage Student Services department is currently looking to hire a new Ultimate Frisbee head coach for the 2025-2026 season, to compete in the RSEQ.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • During the school year (mid-August to end of April) – Season August to early November, followed with your athletes’ academic support for the remainder of the academic year (April).
  • During all practices (3 to 5 hours weekly night practices) and games, (weekends) until November.
  • Renewal yearly after year-end evaluation.

ROLE SUMMARY
This person will form a key part of the CEGEP Heritage College Mixed Ultimate Frisbee program and part of the entire athletic programming team reporting directly to the Coordinator of Student Services. The principal and customary work of this employee consists in directing the energies of Heritage student athletes and developing a dynamic training program. Furthermore, the Head Coach will be responsible for supervising and stewarding students during games to ensure representation that is in line with the directives of the college.
 
DUTIES
Performing all coaching and program management duties consistent with the operation of a successful intercollegiate sport program, including:
  • Participates in the recruitment of potential student-athletes
  • Designs and follow an annual training schedule
  • Recruit its coaching staff and delegate tasks to them
  • Coach all the practices and games (3-5 hours of weekly practice)
  • Ensures an academic follow up with each student-athlete and promote academic excellence within the team
  • Represents CEGEP Heritage College and promotes its programs (athletic and academic level)
  • Adheres to the Éthique Sportive coaching values of the RSEQ and the CEGEP Heritage College
  • Follows the direction of the Student Life Advisor and the Recreation Technician regarding team or player-specific issues.
  • Ensure a strong academic support for each athlete and your team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Minimum of a NCCP Train to Compete level (Old level 2 certification completed)
  • A minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in Ultimate Frisbee with RSEQ, club, provincial, or national team programs.
  • A good knowledge of English is essential (written, spoken and comprehension) and functional French is required.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be diligent, dynamic, creative and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have the ability to work as part of a team
  • A Police background check will be conducted prior to the hiring of the selected candidate
