Sports Facility Attendant

The Student Services Department at Cégep Heritage College is currently seeking a new Sports Facility Attendant for the Winter 2025 semester, dedicated to student life and community and recreational services.

WORK SCHEDULE

The selected candidate will work as needed, based on the schedule of games and tournaments, as follows:

  • Primarily on Friday evenings and weekends when games or tournaments are scheduled;
  • Participation in team meetings once per session, in person.

ROLE SUMMARY
This person will play a key role in the sports programs at Cégep Heritage College as a member of the sports programming team, reporting directly to the Coordinator of Student Services. Their primary responsibilities will include supervising sports activities, setting up events, welcoming visiting teams, managing crowd control, ensuring compliance with RSEQ rules and regulations, and adhering to the College’s guidelines and standards.
DUTIES
The tasks associated with the Sports Facility Attendant role include:
  • Welcoming teams, officials, and spectators to home games.
  • Preparing sports facilities in accordance with RSEQ requirements.
  • Setting up and preparing the necessary equipment for games, tournaments, or competitions.
  • Taking down and storing facilities and equipment after use.
  • Monitoring the smooth running of activities and intervening when necessary.
  • Acting as the person in charge of the activity.
  • Contact Student Life Advisor or Coordinator of Student Services with any RSEQ related issues.
  • Ensuring the safety of the premises.
  • Managing registrations and providing excellent customer service.
  • Writing surveillance reports and inspecting facilities.
  • Performing maintenance on sports facilities and other related tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Have a strong background and knowledge in sports and running sporting events.
  • Strong proficiency in both French and English (written, spoken, and comprehension).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Energy, versatility, adaptability, and autonomy.
  • Experience in a sports facility and up-to-date CPR certification (an asset).
  • A police background check will be conducted prior to hiring.
SALARY RANGE
$20.00 to $23.00/hour based on experience.
