POSITION

Teacher - Physical Education (Winter 2026) - Replacement from January 15th to February 13th, 2026 with possibility of extension.

The college is seeking a part-time professor to teach, within the Physical Education Department in the Winter 2026 semester, the following courses:

109-204-HR Badminton
2 sections : Friday 2-4 and Tuesday 3-5pm and some hours of availability per week.
In this course, students will learn a variety of badminton shots including serving, net shots, clears, drives, and smashes. Students will also learn the rules and strategies of singles and doubles. Learning an effective warm-up and the importance of fitness in badminton will also be addressed.

109-315-HR Outdoor Adventures and Meditation Retreat
1 section : Friday, January 23rd 5-7pm and student meetings to prepare for the course.
This weekend course will emphasize the importance of mind and body awareness through a broad range of activities which include yoga, meditation, Qi Gong and relaxation techniques. In addition, the outings may include hiking, orienteering and ziplining in the fall or snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, indoor climbing in the winter among other adventures depending on the year. The rest of the semester is completed independently, with the guidance of the teacher, focusing on the student’s personal activity program that they have designed for themselves.

365-CB-FR Nutrition et Santé
1 section : Mondays 1-4pm and some hours of availability per week.
Please note the language of instruction for this course is in French. This course must be taught entirely in
French.

Ce cours se concentre sur les effets de la nutrition sur la santé. Nous discuterons des différents rôles et effets des glucides, protéines, graisses, vitamines et des minéraux sur la santé. L'étudiant présentera et évaluera des hypothèses concernant les effets de l'apport nutritionnel sur divers aspects de la santé. Nous explorerons les impacts que jouent les groupes alimentaires, l’étiquetages alimentaires, la cuisine, les problèmes éthiques et mondiaux liés à l'alimentation, la gestion du poids, la forme physique, la grossesse, la croissance physique et les maladies alimentaire croissante. Des exemples de documents de recherche seront examinés pour étudier comment la méthode scientifique est utilisée pour évaluer une problématique spécifique à la nutrition et à la santé.

ROLE SUMMARY
In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities. May also include departmental coordination; program committee coordination; special support and supervision activities; participation in program activities; program development; implementation and evaluation; and institutional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
  • Several years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or college level is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written is required.
  • Fluency in French, both oral and written will be considered an asset.
  • To possess an up to date First Aid and CPR certification.
  • To hold a wilderness and remote First Aid Certification will be considered as an asset.

SALARY RANGE (ANNUAL)
56,082.00$ - 108,008.00$
