  • 1040 hours per year (regular contract)
  • 20 hours per week from Monday to Friday (schedule is flexible).
  • Working schedule to coincide with the academic calendar.

SALARY RANGE
24.47$ - 26.10$
ROLE SUMMARY

The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in assisting the teaching personnel and students, by preparing and placing at their disposal the material needed for carrying out activities related to subjects taught.
 

DUTIES
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • The employee in this employment class carries out the duties of labelling, identifying, classifying, maintaining, repairing and adjusting laboratory supplies.  They report defective equipment they are unable to repair.  They assemble, dismantle and put back in place laboratory apparatus and instruments and places at the users' disposal all material required for laboratory sessions or physical education activities.
  • They will take responsibility for the organization and cleanliness of the Physical Education Equipment room and facilities.
  • They keep an inventory of supplies, prepare purchase orders and, upon receipt of the material, they make sure that it conforms to the requested specifications. 
  • They carry out the operations related to the distribution and return of equipment, apparatus and tools and, if necessary, explain their operation to users.
  • They use information technology and communication tools at their disposal related to the work to be done.
  • They support and promote Physical Education classes and events.
  • They support the equipment-related needs of the Physical Education Garden.
  • They are available for staff/students to sign-in and out gear for lunch hours or for Phys Ed courses.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Must have a secondary school diploma (DES) or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
  • Must be fluent in English (written, spoken and comprehension). Functional French (oral and comprehension) will be required.
  • Must be able to set up and prepare sport equipment and material for the classrooms for Physical Education teachers in a timely fashion.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with the use, maintenance and repairing of sports material such as: outdoor equipment (camping, skis, snowshoes), gymnasium equipment, sports equipment is considered an asset.
  • Must possess self-initiative.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.
  • Must be diligent, dynamic, creative and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work effectively with respect to deadlines and produce accurate results.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to different needs .
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and exercise discretion.
